CANTON, May 23 — A free football symposium will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., in the Canton High auditorium, featuring Mike Golic, the former NFL player and ESPN Radio morning show host, Golic’s wife, Chris, an advisor for USA Football’s Heads Up Football program and Dr. Carl Nissen from the Connecticut Children’s Hospital in Hartford.
The program is for parents, coaches and athletes interested in a better understanding of football safety and how to coach, practice and play the game to promote safety. The session will also discuss heat-related issues and sudden cardiac content. There will be an open mic Q&A session. Event schedule
Friends of Canton Football and the Warriors Youth Football program are sponsoring the event. This is open to parents, coaches and players from around the area – not just Canton.
Warrior Fundamental Football Camp
CANTON, May 10 – There are openings for the 2016 Canton Warrior Fundamental Football Camp for players entering grades 2-9 on Monday, July 11 through Friday, July 15, at Canton High School. The camp will be run by new Canton High football coach Michael Guy, the Warrior coaching staff, other area high school football coaches and members of the current Canton High football program.
All sessions from 9 a.m. to noon, rain or shine. Fee is $75 for a full week of instruction. Players will learn basis football fundamentals, proper warm-up, running skills, agility and individual position skills. Click on the following link for more information about the football camp..
