PLYMOUTH, July 13 – Avon’s American Legion baseball coach Donny Annicelle said that many of the players on Post 201 have been asking to pitch this year. They got their chance on Wednesday night.
A day after Avon captured their second Zone 1 championship in team history with a seven-run victory over Bristol at Muzzy Field, Post 201 gave up nine hits and 11 runs in an 11-5 Zone 1 loss to Terryville.
Catcher Jeremy Zarwanski pitched three innings while Andrew LeDuc pitched part of the fourth inning. Zarwanski gave up just three hits and three runs while LeDuc struggled, giving up four runs in less than an inning’s worth of work.
