
Farmington QB Brooks Milhalek threw for 95 yards and a touchdown in Friday night’s loss to Wethersfield.
WETHERSFIELD, Sept. 9 – Wethersfield QB Craig Elliott threw a pair of touchdown passes in the fourth quarter as the Eagles rallied to erase an eight-point deficit and beat Farmington, 20-14 in a CCC contest Friday night.
Elliott, who completed 20-of-29 passes for 223 yards, hit Ryan Skelly with a nine-yard touchdown pass for the game-winning points. Elliott also completed a six-yard touchdown reception to Austin Stefano earlier in the fourth quarter.
Farmington (0-1) limited the Eagles to just 48 yards rushing and were led by Kevin Dunst and Franklin Ortiz with eight tackles each. Jashaud Jenkins had an interception for the Indians while Danny Mahonski recovered a fumble.
Quarterback Brooks Milhalek completed 12-of-23 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown to Prince Phillips late in the second quarter that gave the Indians a 14-6 halftime lead. Mihalek did throw a pair of interceptions.

BRISTOL, Sept. 10 – Gilbert/Northwestern’s Billy Komons ran for two touchdowns and scored on an interception return as the visiting Yellowjackets overwhelmed host Lewis Mills, 41-12 in a Pequot Conference West Division contest at Muzzy Field in Bristol on a hot and humid Saturday afternoon.
Mills led by one point after one period, 7-6 but the Yellowjackets moved ahead on a six-yard interception return by Komons and a 42-yard touchdown run from Todd Holm for a 21-6 lead. The Spartans cut the lead to nine on Jimmy Romano’s 14-yard touchdown reception from Trevor Baker late in the second half.
But the Yellowjackets wore down Mills on a hot afternoon, scoring three touchdowns in the second half. Gilbert/Northwestern ran for 338 yards. Komons led the way with a game-high 73 yards on 10 carries while quarterback Brad Lissy ran for 64 yards on six carries. Several Mills players came in and out of the game because they were cramping up in the heat.
Gabriel Schwartz also had an interception for the Yellowjackets while Jake Roth recovered a Lewis Mills fumble.
