Games under the lights set for alumni weekend in Canton on Oct. 13-15

Canton hosted its first-ever night football game at the high school Friday night against Lewis Mills.

Canton will host Ellington under the lights on Friday, Oct. 14, as part of Spirit Week action in Canton.

CANTON – It’s Alumni Weekend at Canton High and that means the annual varsity athletic contests under the lights and the Canton High Wall of Fame induction reception on Friday evening.

Four Canton High graduates will be recognized for their achievements in their communities and professions – Jesse Anderson (Class of 1957), Gerry deSimas, Jr. (1981), Candace (Flattery) Freedenberg (1984) and Joshua Sneiderman (1993). A reception will be in the Canton Middle School cafeteria beginning at 5:30 p.m. Contact Lisa Davidson in the school office at 860-693-7707 if you want to attend. Cost is $15 for the reception.
 
There will be several games under the temporary lights on the turf field or gym.

  • Thursday, Oct. 13: Field hockey — Farmington at Canton, 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 13: Volleyball – Coventry at Canton, 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 14: Football – Ellington at Canton, 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 15: Girls soccer – Windsor Locks at Canton, 5:30 p.m. 
  • Saturday, Oct. 15: Boys soccer: Windsor Locks at Canton, 7:15 p.m.

Also, an alumni field hockey and an alumni soccer game (boys and girls) will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the turf field, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Canton Athletic Booster Club announces Spirit Pass
The Canton Athletic Booster Club is offering a new way to attend Canton High’s Spirit Week games with – Spirit Pass. It is an e-ticket for the four night games at Canton High Oct. 13-15. In addition to an expedited ticket to each game, every Spirit Pass owner receives one selected concession item free each night plus entry into a door prize drawing at each game. The pass is good for the four night games at Canton – field hockey vs. Farmington on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m.; football vs. Ellington on Friday, Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m.; girls soccer vs. Windsor Locks on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 5:30 p.m. and boys soccer vs. Windsor Locks on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m.
