COVENTRY, Sept. 23 – After three straight victories, the Canton High girls volleyball had its winning streak snapped with a 3-0 NCCC loss to defending league champion Coventry on Friday night.
Undefeated Coventry (6-0, 4-0 NCCC) swept the Warriors in three games, prevailing 25-17, 25-11 and 25-6. The Patriots, ranked No. 7 in the latest state coaches poll, haven’t lost a game yet this season.
Katie Mankowski led the way for Canton (3-3, 1-3 NCCC) with five kills while Sarah Bowman had three kills. Erin Coleman had six assists while Rachel Falzone had 12 digs.
The Warriors swept matches with Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy (HMTCA) and Hartford Classical earlier in the week by scores of 3-0 before losing to Coventry.
Canton returns to action on Monday when they host Metropolitan Learning Center out of Bloomfield at 5 p.m. in the gym. On Tuesday, the Warriors travel to Hartford for a bout with SMSA and close out the week on Thursday by hosting Suffield at 5 p.m.
