AVON, Oct. 25 – Eden Baker had two goals while five other teammates had individual goals as the No. 1 Glastonbury High girls soccer team dominated Avon in a 7-1 Central Connecticut Conference decision Tuesday evening on Spirit Night at the high school under the lights.
Glastonbury (14-0) gave up their first goal in 10 games to Avon’s Emma Coran. The last team to score on the Tomahawks was Tolland over a month ago on Sept. 15.
The Falcons (9-4-1) got four saves in net from Madison Sides and Alison Janes. Glastonbury snapped Avon’s three-game winning streak. The Falcons have won four of their last six games – the only losses have been to Glastonbury.
Madison Seymour, Taylor Barbieri, Tori Kretzmer, Lauren Grandchamp and Carolyn Bogue also scored for Glastonbury. Goalie Abby Renaud had four saves in net for the Tomahawks.
Avon has two games remaining in the regular season. The Falcons host Southington in the regular season finale on Friday at 3:45 p.m. at Fisher Meadows. They close out the regular season on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. at Tunxis Meade against arch-rival Farmington.
Spirit Week activities continue on Wednesday night when the Avon High volleyball team hosts No. 1 Farmington at 6 p.m. On Thursday night, the Avon field hockey team hosts Conard and on Friday night, the Avon football team searches for their first win of the season by hosting Northwest Catholic at 6:30 p.m.
