EAST WINDSOR, Nov. 1 – The Canton High girls soccer team was looking to end their season on a high note by winning three of their final four games.
But East Windsor scored the final three goals of Tuesday’s NCCC contest including a goal with 3:18 left in the second overtime period to beat the Warriors in double OT, 3-2.
Ten days ago, Canton beat Windsor Locks on a goal by Jane Frawley. Stafford beat the Warriors, 4-2 but Canton earned their fourth win of the season last Friday with a 3-1 victory over Hartford Classical with goals from Sofia Langou, Julia Langou and freshman Chelsea Mitchell.

Canton (4-11-1) took a 2-0 lead against East Windsor on goals from Sophia Langou and Mitchell. Sophia Langou gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead off an assist from Devin Kadis with 5:34 gone in the game. Mitchell made it 2-0 with 2:55 remaining in the first half off another assist from Kadis. Mitchell scored four goals in the last three games of the season while Sophia Langou scored a team-high eight goals this season.
East Windsor (8-7-1) cut the lead to one goal on a score from Sarah Martin with six minutes gone in the second half. The Panthers tied the game at 2-2 on a goal from Jessica Saponare off an assist from Martin with 21:10 left in the second half.
Morgan Masters scored with 3:18 left in the second 10-minute OT period to give East Windsor the 3-2 decision.
