CANTON – Lights on Canton, the committee raising money for permanent lights around the turf football and track at Canton High, will host the first Snowshoe Scramble on Sunday, January 29, at 1 p.m. at Canton High.
The race is a gentle, rambling snowshoe walk through the woods and Mills Pond Park, or a brisk walk if Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate with snow.
Hot chocolate and donuts will be waiting at the end of this outdoor activity. Sledding and snowball fights (if we have snow) are encouraged. Dogs are welcome, too.
Registration for the Snowflake Scramble includes a toasty hat in Canton pride colors and an entry into a raffle. Tickets for this fundraiser are $25 each or $75 for a family of four.
More information and online registration can be found at the Canton Parks and Recreation Commission website. The Parks and Recreation Commission is working with the committee to host the event.
Since 2009, the Collinsville Press has been providing award-winning coverage of sports and news in the Farmington Valley and across Connecticut.
