Undefeated Avon swimmers dominate Bristol for fourth victory

BRISTOL, Jan. 13 – Adam Zaptaka won two individual events and the Avon High boys swimming team won two relays in a 97-74 win over the Bristol co-op swim team on Friday in Central Connecticut Conference action.

Avon (4-0, 0-0 CCC North White) swam three of the final four events unofficially to not run up the score.

Zaptaka won the 200 and 500-yard freestyle while Brendan Downey (diving), Kyle Emery (100 free) and Maksymilian Jaremko (200 IM) each won individual events.

Emery, Samuel Johnson, Laura Pringle and Justin Arroyo won the 200 medley relay while Jaremko, Jared Culbertson, Pringle and Emery won the 200 freestyle relay for Avon.

Avon returns to action on Tuesday when they face the Platt/Maloney co-op team in Meriden at Platt High at 3:45 p.m. The Falcons host Southington on Wednesday at Central Connecticut State
