Avon High graduate Abby Laszewski feels right at home in Wisconsin. The freshman has seen limited playing time for Wisconsin (5-17, 0-9 Big 10) in 19 games. But she is improving. The Wisconsin State Journal caught up with Abby before Saturday’s game with No. 14 Ohio State.
Her best game so far this year was against Mississippi Valley State when she scored 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds in 16 minutes of action in December. Wisconsin prevailed, 103-61. On Saturday against the Buckeyes, she scored three points in 11 minutes of action in a 96-68 loss.
Laszewski, a 6-foot-3 center, averaged 18.1 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.9 blocks a game her senior year for the Falcons. In her four years in Avon, the Falcons qualified for the Class L tournament all four seasons and won three NCCC championships.
