CANTON – The Ally Doyle Memorial Fun Walk will be Sunday, May 7, on the Farmington Valley Trail, beginning and ending near the Crown and Hammer Restaurant in Collinsville. The 3.1-mile walk benefits the Canton Dollar for Scholar’s Ally Doyle Memorial Scholarship. The event begins at 1 p.m.
Ally was a 13-year-old student at Canton Middle School when she lost her life in a tragic accident when she was struck by a falling tree in her backyard last April.
“Ally was an amazing and talented 13-year-old student,” her family wrote on the Walk website. “She had a great love for gymnastics, field hockey, academics, spending time at the beach, and being silly with her friends and family.”
Ally and her family, and their dogs, Abby and Dexter, loved to walk on the trail. The family will host a brief talk about Ally before the walk begins.
Online registration closes on Friday, May 5. Fee is $25. Registrations will also be accepted on Sunday.
