WEST HARTFORD, May 2 – Justin Olson had two hits and three RBI in the second inning as the Avon High baseball team scored 12 runs in a single inning to roll to their third straight victory with a 15-3 Central Connecticut Conference win over Conard Tuesday.
Avon (7-3) had seven hits in the inning, scoring 11 runs with two outs. The Falcons took control of the game with seven hits in the inning while taking advantage of three errors and two walks. Two Avon runs scored on wild pitches in the second inning.
Olson had a two-RBI single and a RBI triple in the second inning. Will Boone also had a triple in the second. Olson finished 3-for-4 on the day with a triple while Ryan Ollstead was 2-for-3. Miles Borenstein and Kyle Emery had doubles for the Falcons.
On the mound, Avon’s Connor Harris improved to 3-0 on the year, going four innings and allowing just three hits. He struck out three. Ray Powell pitched three innings of solid relief, giving four hits.
Avon is in the midst of a nine-day stretch with seven games. The Falcons travel to face Northwest Catholic on Wednesday for a 3:45 p.m. and conclude the marathon with a home game on Friday against Glastonbury at Buckingham at 3:45 p.m. Through five games, the Falcons are 4-1.

Canton 7, Stafford 3
CANTON, May 2 – Pitcher Ethan Burke had a good day at Bowdoin Field. Burke pitched a complete game, allowing five hits and striking out seven to lead the Canton High baseball team to a 7-3 win over Stafford in NCCC play Tuesday. It was the first win of the season on the mound for Burke, now 1-3.
Burke also had a good day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, a double and a triple. Sam Beadle hit his fourth home run of the season while Nate Fulham was 2-for-3 with a double for the Warriors. Six of Canton’s 10 hits were for extra bases.
Canton returns to the diamond on Wednesday when they host Gilbert in a non-league game at Bowdoin Field.
