No. 10 Fairfield Warde is too strong for Warriors in 12-goal victory

FAIRFIELD, May 13 – Jenna Kuczo scored four goals while teammate Courtney Scheetz had three goals to lead No. 10 Fairfield Warde to a 17-5 non-league victory over the defending Class S champion Canton girls lacrosse team on a wet Saturday afternoon in Fairfield.

The host Mustangs (12-4) led by 12 goals at halftime with a 13-1 advantage. It was Canton’s first game of the season against a team ranked in the top 10 of the state coaches poll.

Grace Giancola had three goals for the Warriors (11-2) while freshman Abby Charron added two.

Canton travels to Bethel on Monday for another non-league contest beginning at 4 p.m. before concluding the NCCC campaign by traveling to Suffield on Tuesday. Canton closes out the regular season with a game against Watertown on Saturday, May 20.
