CANTON, June 30 – Will Perotti hit a two-run double in the eighth inning to help the Amenia Monarchs beat the Canton Crushers, 5-1 in eight innings on Thursday night at Bowdoin Field in Tri-State League play.
Amenia pitcher Corey Dunlop went the distance for the Monarchs (7-4) and gave up just two hits and one run while striking out six. Canton hurler Taylor Riley held Amenia to just one run through seven innings.
Perotti was 2-for-4 with three RBI for Amenia while Dunlop and Tyler Smith were each 2-for-3. Canton slips to 2-10 on the season. The Crushers return to action on Thursday, July 6 when they host Valley Thunder at 5:45 p.m. at Bowdoin Field.
