SIMSBURY – The Master’s School baseball team (12-3) won their second straight Hudson Valley Athletic League championship this spring. Master’s won the HVAL regular season title and beat Wooster School from Danbury to win the HVAL tournament championship.
Master’s did receive an invitation to the New England Prep School Athletic Council’s (NEPSAC) tournament but lost in the quarterfinals to Providence Country Day in extra innings, 2-1, on a two-run home run from Ben Kaihler.
Canton native Peter Myers, who will pitch at the University of Hartford next spring, was on the Master’s School squad. Myers, a 6-foot lefthander, had a perfect game in a 4-0 win over the Harvey School earlier In May. He struck out 15 Harvey batters.
