Zarwanski helps Avon rip 13 hits in big win over Terryville

Avon’s Jeremy Zarwanski was 3-for-3 with a triple and 4 RBI in Wednesday night’s win over Terryville.

PLYMOUTH, June 28 – Avon catcher Jeremy Zarwanski was 3-for-3 with a triple and four RBI to lead the Avon American Legion baseball team to a 10-3 win over Terryville in Zone 1 play on Wednesday.

Post 201 had 13 hits to improve to 12-2 on the season. Justin Olson was 2-for-4 with a pair of triples while Sean Del Gallo, Will Thramann and Kyle Emery were each 2-for-4 with one RBI.

On the mound, Chris Jacobs, Brady Williamson and Del Gallo combined to allow just five hits and struck out six. Jacobs pitched three innings, allowed one hit and fanned four to pick up the win and improve to 3-0 on the season.

Avon returns to action on Saturday when they host Simsbury in a doubleheader at Buckingham Field beginning at 1 p.m.
