
Avon’s Major Division (ages 11-12) baseball team lost to Burlington Monday night in the District 6 tournament but remain alive in the double-elimination tournament.
BURLINGTON, July 10 – One semifinal is set for the District 6 Little League Major Division (ages 11-12) baseball tournament. Burlington beat Avon on Monday, 12-1, to earn a spot in Tuesday’s semifinal against Canton in Plymouth.
The winner of Tuesday’s semifinal gets a berth in Thursday’s District 6 championship game. The loser of Tuesday night’s game drops into the consolation bracket.
Avon (4-2) remains alive in the double-elimination tournament will face Granby (4-2) on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. in Terryville. The loser will be eliminated from the tournament. Avon is the two-time defending District 6 champion.
