Ten days of Spirit Week activities begin Tuesday night for Avon High squads

AVON – Avon High is hosting its winter Spirit Week over the next 10 days with the Avon High Booster Club hosting fan buses for students to attend to several out-of-town contests.

It starts Tuesday, Jan. 2 when the Avon/Southington club girls hockey team hosts the Amity co-op team at Westminster School in Simsbury for a 6 p.m. contest.

The Avon High wrestling team hosts South Windsor on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. in the old gym at the high school.

Spirit Week continues with the girls basketball team hosting Valley rival Simsbury on Friday night at 6:45 p.m. On Saturday, January 6, a fan bus will take students to the Elm City Relays as the Avon boys and girls indoor track and field teams compete at the Floyd Little Athletic Center at Hillhouse High in New Haven.

A fan bus will take students to cheer on the Avon High co-ed swimming team as they host Southington at 4:30 p.m. at Central Connecticut State in New Britain on Tuesday, January 9 and to cheer on the Farmington Valley Generals boys ice hockey team when they host East Catholic on Wednesday, January 10 at 8 p.m. at Avon Old Farms.

Spirit Week festivities conclude on Thursday, January 11 when the Avon boys basketball team hosts Rocky Hill at 6:45 p.m. at the high school.
