Avon gives up three home runs in 10-0 loss to Conard in five innings

AVON, April 13 – Conard High pitcher Dominic Niman allowed just two hits and struck out five as the Chieftains earned their second win of the season with a 10-0 win in five innings over the Avon High baseball team on Friday at Buckingham Field.

The game was ended after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Conard’s James Farley hit a pair of home runs and drove in three runs. Colby Jones had a home run and two hits while Mathew Langevin was 2-for-4 with a double for Conard (2-1, 0-0 CCC West Colonial).

Avon pitcher Connor Harris gave up 10 hits and three home runs. He struck out six. Jake Coppen and Ryan Ollestad had singles for the Falcons (1-2, 0-0 CCC West Patriot).

Avon returns to action on Saturday when they host Glastonbury at Buckingham Field beginning at 4 p.m.
