Avon High graduate Hannah Davey, a junior at Lafayette College has scored 22 goals with three assists this year for the Leopards. The midfielder tied a career-high with four goals in a win against Bucknell in late March.
But Lafayette (4-9, 1-4 Patriot League) has struggled with three consecutive losses including a 22-5 loss to No. 10 Loyola on Saturday. Lafayette has five games remaining in the season.

Davey has started all 47 of her collegiate career at Lafayette. She scored seven goals as a freshman and had 28 goals and three assists in 18 games a year ago as the Lepoards went 10-8.
Junior Sandra Stephan of Avon has 10 goals and no assists this season for the Stetson women’s lacrosse team. Stephan tied a career-high with five goals in a win over Furman on March 31. Stetson is 3-10.
BASEBALL
Canton freshman Peter Myers has made nine appearances for the University of Hartford baseball team, which swept a doubleheader from Binghamton this weekend to take over first place in the America East conference.
Myers has pitched 12 innings out of the bullpen and has given up 13 hits, 11 runs and struck out seven. In his last three appearances, he has given up just one hit, no runs and struck out four. He pitched an inning of scoreless relief on Friday in a win over Binghamton. The Hawks are 13-19 overall and 8-4 in America East
At Quinnipiac University, Canton senior Chris Enns has made eight appearances and five starts for the Bobcats. He is 0-3 with a 7.24 ERA. In 27.1 innings of work, he has allowed 29 hits, 29 runs and struck out 14. He has walked 23.
However, he has two no decisions in his last two starts. Against Boston College on Wednesday, April 11, Enns pitched a season-high six innings, allowing four hits, three runs and walking just one, He fanned two. He left the game with a one-run lead.
At Brandeis, Avon’s Scott Ziegler is hitting .156 with a double and home run in 16 games for the Judges (2-18).
Avon freshman Justin Olson is 2-2 with the Trinity College baseball team. Olson has pitched in seven games and made four starts. He has pitched in 20.1 innings and has allowed 22 hits and 17 runs. He has walked 12 and struck out 14.
TRACK & FIELD
Canton freshman Emily Mitchell broke a 12-year-old school record in the long jump at Muhlenberg College when she took eighth at the Coach Pollard Invitational over the weekend. Mitchell’s leap of 17-5½ broke the old Muhlenberg record of 17-4. Mitchell also had a personal best (33-7½) in the triple jump to tie for eighth place.
