SUFFIELD, April 16 – Pitcher Loren Mossey pitched struck out seven and limited Suffield to just two runs in the final four innings to help the Canton High softball team to a 4-3 win on Tuesday in NCCC action.
Canton (2-1, 2-1 NCCC) took a 4-2 lead after five innings but Mossey helped keep the Wildcats at bay and pick up her first save of the year. Kate Horvath got the start and allowed just two hits in three innings of work to earn her first win of the season.
Lauren Eschenbrenner was 2-for-3 with a double for Canton while Emma Love was 2-for-3 with a pair of singles. Kate Horvath was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
Canton returns to action on Wednesday when they host Ellington at 3:45 p.m. The Warriors host Farmington in a non-league game on Thursday.
