STAFFORD, Sept. 16 – Chelsea Mitchell scored two goals and had an assist as the Canton High girls soccer team battled to a 3-3 tie with Stafford in North Central Connecticut Conference action Monday.
The host Bulldogs (0-1-1) had a 1-0 lead after the first half but the Warriors (1-0-1) scored three times in the second half to secure the tie. Ashelyn Cebellero also scored for Canton. Paige Brown, who had two goals in Thursday’s 2-1 season opening win over Windsor Locks, also added an assist along with Allison Celmer.
Canton’s Julia Lau made 17 stops in net for the Warriors. Anna Murphy scored two goals and had an assist for Stafford.
Canton returns to action on Friday when they travel to Hartford to take on Classical Magnet (0-0) at Quirk Middle School.
