Burlington 5K Run/Walk will be Oct. 27 as part of Whigville Harvest Festival

BURLINGTON, October 10 — In conjunction with the 4th annual Whigville Harvest Festival, the 10th annual Burlington 5K Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, October 27 at the Whigville Grange at 153 South Main Street in Burlington. The race begins at 10 a.m.

The Whigville Preservation Group is hosting the Harvest Festival. Taking place during the height of the fall foliage season, there will be fun for the entire family after the 5K race (3.1 miles), such as a kids’ games and activities, arts and crafts, tractors on display, baked goods, local produce, a silent auction, and much more.

There will also be a special proclamation to mark Whigville’s 175th anniversary at noon in front of the grange.

“The people of Whigville value our village’s deep agricultural heritage, which once again will be front and center during Harvest Fest,” said Patti Smaldone, leader of the Whigville Preservation Group. “This is our largest fundraiser of the year and all proceeds go to preserving Whigville for future generations.”

The Whigville Preservation Group is a project of the Burlington Land Trust.

The Whigville Harvest Fest will take place on Sunday, October 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Whigville Grange.
