Avon spikers outlast Hall in five-set marathon, Mills swept

WEST HARTFORD, Sept. 22, 2022 – Claire Bartolucci had team-high and career-high 11 kills and two blocks while Olivia Evanko had 24 assists and 15 digs as the Avon High girls volleyball team outlasted Hall, 3-2 in CCC West action on Thursday.

The Falcons (2-4) won their second match of the season with a 25-19, 19-25, 25-20, 20-25, 15-6 victory.

Jocee Powers had 25 digs, five assists and five serving aces for Avon with teammate Ainsley Evans chipping in with seven kills and five digs. Hall slips to 2-4 on the season.

Platt High 3, Lewis Mills 0
BURLINGTON, Sept. 22, 2022 – Eva Dudley had 16 kills and a block to help the Platt High girls volleyball team sweep Lewis Mills, 3-0, in a CCC South contest. Platt (6-1) won 25-14, 25-18 and 25-12.

Emily Hart had 19 assists, seven kills and 11 digs for the visiting Panthers.

For Lewis Mills (4-3), Peyton DesHardin had seven digs, five assists and two kills.
