Conard prevails in battle with Avon spikers

AVON, Sept. 19, 2022 – Katelyn Wankier had 12 kills and four serving aces but the Conard High girls volleyball team was able to outlast Avon with a 3-1 decision in CCC West action Monday night.

The Red Wolves prevailed with a 25-18, 21-25, 25-14, 25-23 victory to remain undefeated on the season at 5-0.

Jocee Powers had 30 digs for the Falcons while Olivia Evanko had 23 assists and 11 digs. Paola Ortega had 13 digs and Hollis Ryan added eight kills for the Falcons, now 1-4.

Avon returns to action on Thursday when they travel to face Hall in West Hartford.
