AVON, Sept. 27, 2022 – The Avon High field hockey had the game in hand. They had a five-goal lead over visiting East Catholic. Falcon coach Terri Ziemnicki began to put additional players into the game to give them some experience at the varsity level.
When Falcon freshman Kaylie Murphy got into the game, a special moment of sportsmanship occurred. Ziemnicki recalls the moment in this video from our friends at the CIAC.
Avon won the game by a 6-0 margin to improve to 3-3 on the season. Alexa Blaha had three goals in the win with Kendall Neamtz, Celia Cleary and Murphy scoring for the Falcons.
