No. 8 Simsbury wins a pair at Amsterdam Holiday College Showcase

AMSTERDAM, N.Y., Dec. 28, 2022 – Lauren Sabia had 31 points with Amanda Gallagher scoring 18 as No. 8 Simsbury beat Bethlehem Central on Wednesday in the Amsterdam Holiday College Showcase tournament in Amsterdam, N.Y.

Olivia Jarvis as the Trojans (4-1) handed Bethlehem Central, ranked No. 20 in New York State, their first loss of the season after seven straight wins.

The Holiday College Showcase features 18 teams from New York State and New England, playing a pair of games with dozens of college coaches sitting in the stands to take in the action.

On Tuesday, Simsbury beat Shaker, N.Y., 38-31, with Gallagher scoring 20 points and Faye Kaplinski pulling down 15 rebounds and blocking four shots.

Simsbury returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 3, when they host Farmington at 6:45 p.m.
