Ben Cuniowski scored a game-high 14 points and the Canton High boys basketball team limited Somers to seven points in the second and third quarter as the Warriors snapped a four-game losing streak with a 52-41 victory over Somers Friday night in North Central Connecticut Conference action.
Canton (2-4, 1-1 NCCC) trailed by nine points after one quarter, 15-6. But the Warriors outscored Somers, 29-7 over the next two quarters to take a 35-22 lead into the fourth quarter. Somers (5-3) scored just four points in the second quarter and three points in the third.
Brandon Powell had 11 points for Canton while Matthew Benedetti added eight.
The Warriors return to action on Tuesday when they host Rockville in a NCCC match beginning at 6:45 p.m.

Lewis Mills 61, Simsbury 51
BURLINGTON, Jan. 6, 2022 – Connor McAtee scored a game-high 20 points and Jon Schibi added 12 points as the Lewis Mills boys basketball team won their fourth straight game with a 61-51 victory over Simsbury in Central Connecticut Conference play on Friday night. Ryan Donahue had 18 points with Chris Kokinas adding 16 points for Simsbury (4-3).
Mills returns to action Tuesday when they host Hartford Public beginning at 6:45 p.m.
