Top-ranked Weston beats Canton in Class S semifinal

WESTON, June 10, 2024 – Led by a pair of players heading to Division I programs next fall, top-ranked Weston beat No. 4 Canton, 15-8 to advance to the Class S championship game on Saturday at Weston High.

Weston (19-2) is led by midfielders Hannah Cross, who will attend Lehigh in the fall, and Sarah Zwack, who will attend New Hampshire.

Canton (16-5) had a seven-game winning streak snapped with the loss. The Warriors were looking for their first appearance in the finals since 2016

Weston will face New Fairfield (15-6) in the Class S championship game. New Fairfield has won the last five CIass S championships, excluding 2020 when the tournament was cancelled due to the pandemic.
