RB Cam Edwards scored a TD while rushing for 57 yards on 15 carries while Skyler Bell caught six passes for 54 yards and a TD. Buffalo (2-3) mounted a crucial drive in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter, with Gunnar Gray finding AJ Henderson for a 5-yard touchdown pass on fourth down with 59 seconds left, tying the score at 17–17. Fagnano quickly moved UConn (3-2) into range on a 10-play drive, setting up the 44-yard chance. Freeman delivered, securing the win with a 44-yard field goal.

Goals from Adewale Obalola and Jack Panayotou lifted Hartford to a 2-0 win over defending USL Championship champion Colorado Springs on Saturday night. Hartford goalie John Berner earned the shutout with seven saves, including several crucial stops in the first half. It was the 10th shutout of the season for Hartford, which improves to 16-10-7 overall and 11-9-5 in USL Championship action. The Athletic return to action on Saturday, Oct. 4 when they travel to Sacramento, California for the final of the USL Jägermeister Cup final at 10 p.m.
