Canton freshman competes in Class S swimming championships

CANTON, March 9, 2026 – Freshman Andrew Dauphinais earned 11 points for Canton at Monday’s Class S championship meet in boys swimming at Cornerstone pool in West Hartford.

Dauphinais, who trained this winter with the Granby/East Granby co-op team, finished 18th in the 100-yard breast stroke with a time of 1:10.54. He also finished 21st in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:21.17. As a team, Canton was 23rd out of 23 teams with 11 points.

It’s not the first time that a Canton swimmer has competed in a CIAC boys swimming championship meet. Canton athletes competed in 2011, 2012 and 2018.

The best finish by a Canton athlete came from Conor Boman in 2012, when he finished seventh in the Class S championships in the 100 yard butterfly.
