Valentino (S) was 2-4 with 2 doubles.

Boudreau scores on a wild pitch to win the game. In bottom of eighth, St. Paul’s Coby Dagata two-out single to left field ties game at 5-5. Stonington takes 5-4 lead in top of eighth after Wyatt Loughlean doubles and scores on throwing error on bunt attempt by Evan West. St. Paul ties game in bottom of seventh. With two outs and runner on first, Boudreau singles and Benoit moves to third. Benoit scores on Judenis’ RBI single to CF. Trailing 3-0 in top of seventh, Stonington scores four to take the lead on Brayden Wolfraft’s two-out, 2 RBI single to LF. Matteo Panciera and Tyler Cimini also had RBI singles for the Bears, making their first title appearance since 1960. St. Paul won their second straight Class S title.

Of note: Charlotte Diviney (S) had 4 goals and 1 assist to lead Simsbury. Delaney Soucie made four stops in net for the Trojans, who won their second straight Class L championship. Anna Stockwell (S) had two goals and an assist.

Of note: Top-seeded Hand (19-3) got four goals from Maggie Lavin and three from Ellie Flynn to win their first-ever state championship in girls lacrosse. Branford (17-5) got four goals from Jessica Radziunas.

Of note: Maya Skalski (S) 4 goals and 1 assist as Somers won their first-ever state title. The Spartans led 11-7 and help off a late Hall rally. Molly Tabb (S) made 6 saves in net. Leighton Brady had 3 goals and 1 assist for the Hall.

Wednesday, June 10

Class L: Shelton 3, Ridgefield 0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-16)
Of note: Shelton (23-0) won their first state championship since 2005. Michael Prancuk led Sheltn with 10 kills while Luke Park, Tyler Cayer and Jacob Theien each had 7 kills. Cayer had 8 blocks while teammate Matthew Reilly had 30 assists. Ridgefield finishes 19-5.
Friday, June 12

Class S:  Joel Barlow 3, Woodstock Academy 0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-21)
Of note: Brayton Bottone had 14 kills and Evan Chernik had nine kills for Woodstock (26-2), playing in the final for the first time. Gavin Hecker had 14 assists. Junior  hitter Alex Stinson had 17 kills for Barlow, who won their second straight title.
Class M: New Canaan 3, Maloney 0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-22)
Of note: Dylan Ho had 26 assists and Nolan McLaughlin had a team-leading 12 kills to lead the Rams (23-1) to their first-ever Class M championship over defending champion Maloney (23-2).
