CANTON, Aug. 30, 2026 – Burlington’s Colin Paul became the eighth teenager to win the 34th annual Lobster Loop road race in the last decade with a victory on Sunday on the Town Green in Canton.
Paul, 17, from Burlington won the 3.1 mile race in 16:56, beating 16-year-old Jesse Cervantes of Burlington by 36 seconds for the victory. Torrington’s Casey Smith, 45, finished third in 18:09.
Avon’s Madison McGarry became the youngest woman to win the Lobster Loop, finishing fourth overall with a time of 19:03. McGarry, 14, finished fourth overall, the highest a woman has ever finished in the race.
Avon’s Abby Van Hoof was second in the women’s race with a time of 19:23 and was seventh overall.
Two-time defending woman’s champion Lauren Longley of Canton finished third in 19:41, her best time in the past three years. She won the race with a time of 19:55 a year ago.
There were a record 518 runners who finished the race, erasing the old mark of 503 set in 2013.
