With the lengthy power outage caused by heavy, wet snow on Saturday, Oct. 28, there was no football for Farmington Valley teams on Friday. Farmington at Middletown and Simsbury at Southington was postponed because neither Farmington nor Simsbury have been in school all week due to the power outage. The snow brought down trees and branches on power lines that cut electric service to every Connecticut Light and Power customer in Farmington, Simsbury, Canton, Avon and Granby along with 831,000 other Connecticut residents. It took CL&P 10 days to restore power.
Farmington will play at Middletown on Thursday, Nov. 17 with Simsbury playing at Southington on Wednesday, Nov. 16. Simsbury’s game at Glastonbury has been moved to Wednesday, Nov. 23.
