AVON – The Avon High boys tennis team won its third straight NCCC championship this spring, rolling through the league undefeated (14-0) for the second straight year. The Falcons (15-2, 14-0 NCCC) have won 39 straight league matches since 2010.
The Avon High girls tennis team went 17-1 to win the NCCC championship by two games over Ellington/Somers (15-3). The Falcons finished 18-2 on the year and 17-1 in the league.
The Avon High girls lacrosse team won its first NCCC championship since 2010 by rolling through the regular season undefeated in the league. The Falcons (12-4, 10-0 NCCC) also captured the league tournament with a dominant 13-8 win over Granby, who lost just three regular season games – two to Avon.
The Avon High boys lacrosse team finished a game behind Granby in the NCCC but rebounded to win the NCCC Tournament with a 12-3 decision over Granby. The Falcons went 14-2 on the year and 8-2 in the league.
