Four Avon High seniors sign national letters of intent

Four Avon High seniors signed their national letters of intent at the high school Tuesday to play sports next year in college.

Colin Moore, the All-State football player who was named the Gatorade Player of the Year, signed a letter of intent to play lacrosse at Furman College in South Carolina. Furman will field its first varsity team in 2014.

Hal “Chappy” Wingo, an offensive and defensive lineman on the Avon High football team, will play football next year at Georgetown University.

Two players from the girls soccer team that won the Class L championship have signed letter of intent to play soccer next fall. Goalie Kaylan Conrad will play Division I soccer at Bryant College in Smithfield, R.I. Teammate Catherine Jordan will play Division I soccer at Duquesne University, outside of Pittsburgh in western Pennsylvania.
