Bids in double elimination portion of Legion tournament on the line

All eight home teams prevailed in the third round of the 2013 American Legion baseball state tournament on Monday in the Northern and Southern Sectional. Danielson, Ellington and East Haddam had won two straight games but their seasons came to an end. The winners of Tuesday’s eight games will advance to the double elimination portion of their respective sectional tournaments. Continue reading for more results and an updated tournament schedule. 

Zone 1 champion Avon (20-4) will host Enfield (19-6) on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Avon Old Farms. Enfield finished second in Zone 8, five games behind zone champion Windsor Locks, who went 23-1 on the year. Enfield beat Waterford, 7-1 on Monday.
