Simsbury is No. 2 seed in annual state high school girls hockey tournament

The ninth annual Connecticut girls hockey championship tournament opens Monday, March 3 with eight teams in quarterfinal action across the state. Defending champion New Canaan, who has won six of the previous eight state titles, is the No. 4 seed. Darien is the top seed.

Simsbury, the two-time Southern Connecticut Conference champion, is the No. 2 seed in the eight-team tournament. Before the state tournament begins, the Trojans (18-2) face East Catholic/Glastonbury/South Windsor co-op for the SCC Tournament championship on Friday at 6 p.m. at Trinity College in Hartford.
