ALBANY, N.Y, — For 20 minutes, the unimaginable was occurring. No. 1 Connecticut was in a dogfight with No. 7 Dayton in the final of the Albany Regional with a berth in the Final Four on the line. There were 14 lead changes and Dayton, which sank seven of eight 3-point shots in the first 20 minutes, led by one at halftime. The Huskies put down the hammer in the second half. They played defense with the tenacity of hungry wolves circling their prey. They grabbed nearly every rebound. And the two-time defending NCAA champions advanced with a 91-70 victory.
