AVON, Nov. 2 – Boyles Furniture & Rugs is announcing the closing of their Avon store located at 15 Waterville Road that overlooks Route 44.  The store will begin its closing sale on Thursday, Nov. 5.

Three years ago the 65-year old Boyles brand, known as a source for the highest quality furniture at discount prices, was re-launched via a partnership between longtime owners, the Hendricks family, and a group of investors led by Furniture Hall of Fame inductee, Gene Rosenberg.

The owners plan to sell the property and the 22,000 square foot building. “The Avon building is in a prime real estate market, so, we have decided to sell the property and reinvest in our hub area near Mocksville, North Carolina,” said Gene Rosenberg, chairman of the board for Boyles Furniture & Rugs.

“Closing the Avon store will certainly present a wonderful opportunity for consumers to buy furniture at unprecedented savings,” Rosenberg said. “Everything in the store has to be sold and will be offered at special store closing prices.

The store features many of the most iconic brands in the furniture industry, including Henredon, Drexel Heritage, Sherrill, Bernhardt, Hekman, Howard Miller, Marge Carson, Theodore Alexander, Caracole, and Aireloom Bedding.

Boyles also houses the area’s largest Oriental rug gallery, with fine rugs from around the world.  All rugs will be discounted by 65 percent.

Since 2009, the Collinsville Press has been providing award-winning coverage of sports and news in the Farmington Valley and across Connecticut.
