Senior Brianna Stewart and the Huskies are shooting for a fourth straight NCAA national championship.
Last week, the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team rolled over Kansas State, 97-57 at the XL Center in Hartford. The win came on the 30th anniversary of the first victory for head coach Geno Auriemma in Storrs. Meanwhile, senior Brianna Stewart became just the ninth player to score more than 2,000 points. “Thoughts of tomorrow turn on the experiences of yesterday,” columnist Rick Wilson of Litchfield County Sports wrote. “It wasn’t about the game this night, it rarely ever is with the Huskies. It was about the icon and the legend.” Read Rick’s thoughts on the game, Geno and Stewie.
