CANTON, Jan. 28 – Jessica Larsh had a team-high 18 points to lead the Bolton High Bulldogs to a 57-54 NCCC victory over Canton Friday night. Julia Hinckley had 10 points for Bolton (13-2, 11-1 NCCC) while Megan Shorey and Syndey Marshall each had eight points.
Bolton led by 15 points in the fourth quarter but the Warriors (11-4, 10-2 NCCC) made a late run, outscoring Bolton 15-3 in the final three minutes. Canton cut the deficit to three points with 9.2 seconds remaining on a three-point shot from Emma Charron.
But it took Canton too long to foul Larsh. She missed the front end of a 1-and-1 foul shot opportunity with 1.5 seconds remaining but it wasn’t enough time for Canton to get off a shot.
Emily Briggs led Canton with a game-high 26 points and a three-point goal. Charron added 11. Canton was hurt by a scoring drought of nearly 4½ minutes in the fourth quarter. Sarah Bowman missed the game because she is recovering from a concussion.
Canton returns to the floor Tuesday night when they travel to Granby for a 7 p.m. start.
