Avon’s Abby Laszewski had 18 points to lead the Falcons Friday night but it wasn’t enough in a loss to Weaver.
AVON, January 29 – The Avon High girls basketball is finding little room for error in the Central Connecticut Conference. Their opponents can feast on their mistakes. After beginning the season with seven wins in their first nine games, the Falcons dropped their fifth in a row Friday afternoon losing to Hartford’s Weaver High, 57-32.
Weaver (12-3) forced 25 turnovers and never gave the Falcons a chance to climb back into contention. Avon senior Abby Laszewski led the Falcons (7-7) with a team-high 18 points and six blocks. Click on the following link for GameTIme CT’s coverage of the game with Weaver.
Avon returns to the floor Monday night when they travel to West Hartford to face Northwest Catholic. And next Thursday night, the Falcons renew their rivalry with Canton at 7 p.m. in Avon.
