WESTBROOK, March 9 – Westbrook’s Bradley Cates scored nine of his 16 points in the fourth quarter while teammate Cory Muckle scored six of his 18 points in the final quarter to lead No. 8 Westbrook to a 77-70 win over No. 9 Canton in the second round of the Class S tournament Wednesday night.
Twice, Canton cut the Westbrook lead to one point late in the fourth quarter but the Warriors (17-8) couldn’t take the lead.
Canton’s Jake Schaetzel drained a foul shot to cut the Purple Knight lead to one, 64-63 but Westbrook expanded the lead with a 6-0 run with a foul shot from Sean Antonson, a three-pointer from Muckle and a jumper from Cates. The Warriors (17-8) never got closer than four points the rest of the way.
Cameron Lange led Canton with 15 points and Luke Brown scored 13 while Ethan Burke, Adam Eytan and Rieley Hoffman each added 10 points. The 10 points was a career-high for Eytan while Burke tied his career-high with 13 points, including three 3-point field goals.

Westbrook (17-7), which advances to face top-seeded Immaculate in the quarterfinals, was led by Liam Bell with 20 points.
Westbrook had an early six-point lead in the first quarter but Canton responded with a 13-7 run led by Lange with eight points, including a pair of three-point shots, to take a 22-21 lead. The Warriors drained eight 3-point shots in the game led by Lange and Brown with three each.
The game was tied five times in the second quarter and the Warriors led at halftime, 40-39. In the third quarter, Canton’s biggest lead was four points but the Knights moved ahead for good with a 14-5 run with Bell and Muckle each draining three-point shots in the rally.
