INDIANAPOLIS, April 3 – Seniors Moriah Jefferson, Breanna Stewart and Morgan Tuck have received the majority of the attention for the UConn women’s basketball team this season. With good reason, too. Stewart is the nation’s top player. All three are All-Americans.
What sometimes might go unnoticed is the true strength that the top-ranked Huskies possess as a whole. They are much more than the Big Three. And they proved it on the game’s biggest stage Sunday against Oregon State. Tuck delivered 21 points, three rebounds and three assists. Yet, every member of UConn’s primary rotation made an impact in Sunday night’s 80-51 victory over the Beavers. Connecticut will play Syracuse Tuesday night for the national championship.
