Three of four Canton victories come in three sets in win over Raiders

Tennis graphicCANTON, April 13 – Liam Connolly, Brendan Shepart and Brian Barger all came up victorious in the deciding third set to help lift the Canton boys tennis team to a 4-3 NCCC victory over Windsor Locks Wednesday at Mills Pond Park.

Connolly won the third set by a 7-5 margin while Shepard won two consecutive sets after dropping the first set. Barger also won the decisive third set by a 7-5 margin to lift the Warriors, now 2-1. Joe Bowman also won at first singles for Canton, which beat Hartford Classical on Monday, 6-1.

The Canton High girls tennis team slipped to 1-2 on the year with a 7-0 loss on the road at Windsor Locks. The Warriors did beat East Granby on Friday, 5-2, for their first victory of the season.
