
Canton’s Gavin Wood caught a pass for 10 yards in Friday night’s 39-0 loss to Ellington under the lights in Canton.
CANTON, Oct. 14 – Canton’s Braedon Bean ran for 83 yards on 11 carries and the Warriors had an interception and two sacks but it wasn’t enough as Ellington rolled to a 39-0 win under the lights on Friday night at the turf field. The Canton Booster Club paid for portable lights to allow the Warriors (0-4) to play under the stars.
Ellington’s Izaiah Castro Vega scored two touchdowns – one on a two-yard run and a second on a 30-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Robert Ecker. Jack Lesile ran for two touchdowns and a game-high 84 yards on three carries to lead the Purple Knights (4-1).
Gavin Wood had five tackles and an interception for the Warriors while Ta’Ki Blizzard had a sack. Carter Gavin had a team-high seven tackles for Canton. Dugan Lloyd took over at quarterback and was sacked three times by Ellington. Senior QB Alex Higley is still out with an ankle injury suffered when he ran into an equipment box on the sideline two weeks ago against Lewis Mills.
The game was called with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter after an Ellington player was seriously hurt. Canton was shutout for the third time in four games.

Lewis Mills 24, Granby 8
GRANBY, Oct. 14 – Lewis Mills QB Trevor Baker completed 9-of-25 passes for 100 yards and three touchdown passes and Chris Romano scored a touchdown on a 54-yard fumble recovery to lead Lewis Mills to a 24-8 win over Granby Friday night.
Jimmy Romano caught six passes for 80 yards and a school-record three TD passes for Mills (3-2). Defensively, Mills recovered three fumbles with Austin Holland and Kiley Karpenco also recovering fumbles. Chris Romano had six tackles for Mills while Dennis St. Pierre had five tackles and two tackles for losses.
Jack Hauser scored on an 87-yard run for Granby (1-4).
