ELLINGTON, April 11 – Grace Giancola scored seven goals while freshman Abby Charron had a career-high six goals to lead the defending Class S champion Canton girls lacrosse team to a dominant 18-3 NCCC win over Ellington Tuesday.
The Warriors (4-0, 2-0 NCCC) led by nine goals at halftime. Jess Rogowski had two goals for the Warriors while Ali Bahre, Lauren DiMartino and Ashley Huff also scored goals. For DiMartino, it was her first career goal.
Courtney LeFave and Jesse Webb combined to make three saves to earn the win — the a school record 10th straight win for Canton. The previous record was eight straight to open the 2016 season.
The Warriors return home on Thursday morning when they host Suffield for a 10 a.m. vacation week matinee.
