COVENTRY, April 10 – Ryan Enns continues to get extra base hits for the Canton High baseball team. In three games, the junior has six hits on the young season including four doubles.
Enns was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and one RBI Monday against Coventry but it wasn’t enough in a 13-3 North Central Connecticut Conference loss to the Patriots.
Coventry (2-0, 2-0 NCCC) had 16 hits including seven extra-base hits as the Patriots handed Canton their first loss of the season.
Brandon Peters was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI for the Warriors (2-1, 2-1 NCCC) while James Mattson was 2-for-4 with a single and a triple. Canton hitters fanned 10 times.
For Coventry, Matt Cook was 3-for-3 with four RBI and a triple while Andrew Whelock was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Canton starter Ethan Burke (1-1) lasted two innings and took the loss. He allowed six hits, four runs and struck out just two.
The Warriors return to the field on Wednesday when they travel to Somers.
