Under Canton native David Vaudreuil, the Tulsa Roughnecks have won their first two games of the season.
TULSA, Okla, April 1 – A goal from Joey Calistri helped lift the Tulsa Roughnecks to a 1-0 win over the Rio Grande Valley Toros in the rain Saturday night in United Soccer League action. The Roughnecks are now 2-0 under first-year coach David Vaudreuil, who grew up in Canton. Tulsa, which finished last in the USL’s Western Conference a year ago, has beaten two teams that qualified for the playoffs a year ago.
“It took us all of the first half to adjust and figure out how to hold them defensively. But we were dangerous and stuck to our game and created a good chance to score,” Vaudreuil said. Calistri is on loan to the Roughnecks from the team’s MLS affiliate Chicago Fire. More here from the Roughnecks.
